The community laments the death of Father LeClair born 1812 in upper Canada of French descent. He lived thirteen years in this area and walked ten to fifteen miles in a day in his later years. He passed away peacefully Sunday morning after a brief final illness. His long life included a shoe making trade and a strong devotion to work and family.
The article chronicles the life of a respected local craftsman and church member who converted from Catholicism to Protestantism, joined the Black River Conference and later the Northern New York Conference, and who cherished family ties through two marriages and seven children. Lynden Lodge No 56 F F A M Lynden Washington passes resolutions on the death of Brother Alexander LeClaire aged ninety six years and five months after more than seventy years as a Mason. They express sorrow to the widow and family, order minutes to record the resolutions, send a copy to the widow, and publish in the Lynden Tribune.
Station agent B W Loring takes a rest and will visit relatives in Ohio and other eastern points. L W Callarman will assume duties at the depot during the absence. County institute planned for October 1923 in Bellingham with skilled instructors. Mrs C F Bowron and Maurice of Mt Vernon visited R E Bowron at the Tribune office. The W C T U and the Law and Order League held a Tuesday evening union meeting with Scripture Reading and Prayer. Rev. Smith and Rev. Case gave talks on Brotherhood of Citizens oath and Personal Liberty. Mrs. J R Vail read a paper on Personal Liberty. Mrs. McPherson read a paper on The Liquor Traffic and Home Missions. A closing duet by Mrs. Case and Miss Ruth Handy.
Mr and Mrs Harbit hosted a pleasant surprise at their Grover street home for Mrs Myra Brown of Bagly Minnesota visiting her sister in law Mrs F M Kelsey and stepson Mrs J Thompson. Guests included Royal Neighbors and Rebekahs. The evening featured a game of flinch and a late lunch.

Guests included Mesdames Mary Jones A R Hay F Saxauer R E Bowron Kate Worthen B W Loring F J Shinn and Misses Chaves Trene and Ray Sain. The evening featured Flinch and light refreshments.
