Death comes at last to claim little sufferer Cordellia Holderman

The two and a half year old Cordellia Holderman died after nine months of suffering from accidental ingestion of concentrated lye. She had been treated at St Luke's hospital in Bellingham. Funeral services were held at 11 o clock at the family home on the road to Everson with burial in Lynden Cemetery.

Daily use of fifteen to twenty carloads of material prepares grounds and buildings for the A Y P Exposition in Seattle. Alaska exhibit features 1 250 000 in gold forms. Fraser river discovery centennial to be observed during next year. Canada to join with minerals timber fruits fish and agricultural displays. Seattle streetcar extensions 500 000 dollars. Whitfield Farewell Reception Held By Epworth League

The Epworth League hosted a informal farewell for Rev. and Mrs. A. J. Whitfield in the M. E. church League room on Tuesday evening. Guests shared conversation and games with light refreshments as the event ended on a pleasant note.

Judge Tackles Bear in Woods Before Bradley Boys Debut

Judge Neterer and Assessor Brown of Bellingham opened the game season with a dramatic bear hunt in Northwood woods. The Judge fired at a bear two or three times but the animal escaped with Brown. Bradley boys arrived with dogs to finish the chase.

Thirtieth Anniversary Celebration for Mr. and Mrs Frasier

A local gathering marked the 30th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs A H Frasier at their home with Corps ladies, music from Ada Brute, and gifts including a pearl stick pin from Mrs P A Clarke. The event concluded with well wishes for future gatherings and editor Neil of Nya,Warsden visiting the office.

Miss Frasier Hosts Thirty at Cousin's Reception

Miss Ruth Frasier entertained about thirty guests last Tuesday evening honoring her cousin Mr. Alex Babbet of Tacoma. The event featured games and a cake and ice cream service as the guests enjoyed a royal good time at the Frasier home. Mrs Moler Injured in Serious Accident at Sumas

While in Sumas last week Mrs Phiena Moler stepped from a moving rig and was struck by the rear wheel. She suffered a broken thigh bone and fractures to both bones in the right forearm. Dr S S Howe attended to the injuries and she was later brought home to Lynden where she was reported improving.

Basket Social at Fraternal Hall October 24

The Royal Neighbors host a basket social at Fraternal Hall in October 24 inviting all. Attendees may bid to buy a box for each man by the pound with a fourth of a cent per pound for each lady’s partner. A hefty donation increases chances for a heavier prize.

Waples Shingle Mill Sets One Day Record

The Waples shingle mill near Fish Trap Creek surpassed previous daily output with a 121000 shingles cut last Friday. Under manager C E Holmes for three years the plant has run nearly continuously, averaging over 70000 shingles daily and retaining two thirds of its original crew through good and bad weather.
