Henry Shagren was elected Lynden Public Schools director for a three year term with a light turnout. He received 14 of 19 votes to succeed Edson. In Delta district Fred Lash won a director seat to replace Keller. North Prairie and Woodland precincts reported low ballots with a Woodland vote on a new schoolhouse to be decided at a special election.

Funeral Services Held for William F. De Jonge
Funeral services for William F. De Jonge were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the family home and First Reformed Church with Rev. H. K. Palma presiding. De Jonge, born in 1876 in Almeloo Netherlands, died after a week’s illness from influenza and pneumonia. He moved from Douglas County South Dakota to Linden in 1919 and is survived by his widow Anna Le Cocq, four children, siblings in India and Holland, and a Holland-America Line captain brother.

The county commissioners awarded a four mile paving contract to Riddle and Hawkins for 100 983 dollars to connect the Knutzen route with Everson road via Hannegan. Miss Audrey Hinckley of Lynden died at her mother's Northwood home from a severe spinal meningitis attack after a week of illness. The 15 year old Lynden High student was survived by her mother Mrs Agnes Hinckley sister Mrs Lee Williamson and brothers George Herbert Walter and Edgar Crabtree. Funeral arrangements were incomplete.

Lynden residents clos ed schools on Friday the day of Mrs William A Fisher funeral held at Knapps Parlors. Rev W O Benadom led services before a crowded room. A quartet sang as floral tributes filled the assembly space. Fisher wife Ruth Alice Rees Fisher was born February 22 1898 in Indianapolis and married William A Fisher May 30 1913 in Portland. She was a Methodist Church member and survived by her husband a son and her parents Dr and Mrs William Rees of Portland.
