Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 2 PM at the family home for little Diagena Watt Van Egdom daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Van Egdom who died Monday from meningitis after diphtheria. Fire Destroys Leake Home on Memorial Day
The Leake residence at 9th and Liberty Streets was completely destroyed by fire on Memorial Day afternoon. Two children awakened by an older brother escaped as flames spread before the fire department could save the building. The cause remains unknown. Mr. Leake worked at the Creamery and Mrs. Leake attended Memorial Day exercises. The house was partially insured.
