M W A Club Plans Big Picnic With Contests

Lynden M W A members organize a two week away picnic with a wide program. A parade, speeches by W A Martin, baseball, tug of war, wrestling, running events and a grand ball mark the day. Prizes range from 1 to 150 dollars and the Victor Banner awaits the top camp.

Lynden’s ball squad traveled to Blaine and blanked the hosts, delivering a strong performance. In a separate game, Lynden players Branstetter, Hemingway, Robins, and Sorenson assisted Blaine against North Yakima, with Blaine defeating North Yakima 6 to 1.

J B Litton and family took possession of their recently purchased place from T J Booth. Nellie Nace and daughter Adelaide of Custer spent Tuesday with relatives here. J W Cook and mother and sister visit Charleston Washington. Harry Litton of Blaine visited brother J B Litton and family. Roy Palmer spent Monday in Lynden with sister Mrs Lemming and niece Ethel Lemming accompanying home for several days. S L Palmer and Mrs J H Swope drove to Bellingham Monday and returned with Mrs E T Mack who will stay two weeks.

D W Bender resigns as city clerk to take a bookkeeping post with Roe and Van Leeuwen Lumber Co. Registration books will be kept open by W J Baker at Baker and Taylor's real estate office for the present.

Real Estate Transfers Include Farms and Lots Sold Near Lynden

Swim and Aldrich sold four lots to Albert Roo adjacent to his holdings near the school house. They also sold two lots in Swim and Aldrich's addition to Barney Jajama who will improve and build on them. John Burgraff sold his 40 acre ranch to Mr. Lindseth for 6500, the last of 172 river bottom acres bought three years ago near Fish Trap creek mouth, with tools and stock. Joan Skiller transferred a 50 acre river bottom farm southeast of Lynden to John Bergraf for 9000 in a Wednesday closing. Chas Skiller sold his Lynden area farm to Miss Florence Brooks and George Aulton for 10000.

Will Storrey's Father Dies After Illness Near Everson

D Liberty aged 75 passed away at home near Everson after a period of illness. Funeral at Presbyterian church tomorrow at 10 a.m. Interment in Nooksack cemetery. Survived by wife four sons Eugene of Portland Charles Hercule and William of the area and two daughters Mrs Bill Storrey Lynden and Miss Clara of Everson. Community sends sympathy. Dont forget the play Above the Clouds tonight.
