W H Elder was elected school director for three years succeeding Frank E Knapp and will take office in March. The Union High School District plan was rejected in most districts though Lyn den approved the plan 68 to 24 and approved a seven mill extra levy for 1922 23 by 70 to 30.

Mrs L Koole marked her birthday with relatives and friends on Thursday, sharing a cheerful family birthday gathering.
Lynden Washington cooperative association shipper opens new export to Montreal. Lynden station sent its second carload of local eggs to the Canadian market, signaling growing regional trade.
L A Marchant was severely burned Sunday at the Howard Worthen place when a gasoline engine ignited. Worthen extinguished the blaze but Marchant suffered extensive burns to face hands and body.
County poultrymen meet in Laurel to plan a winter poultry school to be led by W D Buchanan and Dr W T Johnson. They seek input from local farmers through County Agent H B Carroll Jr to tailor the program. A bazaar by the Daughters of Dorcas at Wiser Lake Hall on the 10th features a program and supper.
Mr and Mrs Fred Cheney and family left Lynden on a Wednesday motor trip to Oregon where they will establish a home in Pleasant Hill. Rebekahs club initiated two new members at a Saturday gathering with cards and a gift presented to newlyweds Mr and Mrs Ross Davis. Mrs G Birdwell plans a five room house on the corner of 2nd and Liberty streets.
Lynden pupils report seventh grade won the marching banner last week and most seventh graders scored 100 percent in spelling while many students across grades achieved perfect attendance in the first three months. Christmas preparations include sixth grade wreaths and room decorations as Mrs. Fisher recovers and Amanda Nessen substitutes in the fourth grade. A new boy enters the second grade as staff note illness and lunch program participation.
Lynden held a quiet municipal election on Saturday with 77 voters. Mayor EB Edson received all 77 mayoral ballots while council, treasurer, port commissioner positions saw small vote totals across precincts.
The G W Robertson garage this week installed a tall Chief Sentry gasoline pump among the latest models. The unit offers an attractive appearance and uses a cream-separator principle to filter gasoline, highlighted as an important feature.
Remodeling of the window displays at Farmers Mercantile Company is complete. The new display features a smart valance and brown rear and side walls, giving the window a distinctly modern appearance.
Christian Endeavor of the First Reformed Church on Grover Street held a Christmas party at Rev H K Palma home Wednesday evening with games and a luncheon. Marian Biehler and guests hosted a card evening at their home later. A Blues versus Reds banquet is planned Friday at six o clock at the M E Church to honor members. younger children will be entertained Saturday afternoon from two to five with inviting parents.
Mrs A Stuurman and her daughters Frances and Elizabeth travel to Redlands California Monday seeking climate relief for rheumatism with Mr A Stuurman accompanying to Seattle. Klatawa Club enjoyed a seven oclock dinner at Miss Pearl Nesson home with Viola Gosch and Amanda Nessen as honorees. Kensington club hosted by Mrs D Mulder and Mrs Ernest Jacobs with guests Saxauer Zylstra King and Miss Ethel Lewis. Queen Esther Society met at Mrs Harold Knapps and Womans Home Missionary Society met with Mrs Co M Bruns. Mr and Mrs E Zweegman planned to go to Bellingham Saturday.
