Poor Dairy Cows Endanger Lynden Farms Profits Says Expert

Karl B. Musser ex extension dairy expert at Washington State College in Pullman argues many Lynden farms lose profits due to poor dairy cows. He lists yes or no questions on records, profitability, sire quality, heifer rearing, balanced rations, feed records, pails, cleanliness, silos, leguminous hay, water, and ventilation to guide dairyman success.

Local Happenings and Movement in Lynden Area

Mrs. Charles Packard spent the week end in Bellingham. Charles Renfro rented the A Bosland farm on British Columbia Avenue and will move next week. P J Van Hemert made a business trip to Vancouver Monday. Reverend W O Benadom was ill Sunday and could not conduct Methodist services. George Frick Jr returned to Lynden for spring vacation and will likely return to Eugene on April eighth.

Lynden High School News and Activities Report

Senior English students present oral book reports this week as the senior play draws near. Visitors include Miss Marian Bay Miss Edith Heaton and Lynden grads Oliver Ingersoll Ruth Stuart. Botany field trip and track practice occurred with rain halting Friday sessions. Shorthand entries for Gregg Artists contest sent to Chicago. The Thistle issue four features praise for the staff. Shorthand aims to finish the manual this week for six weeks of dictation.
