Alson W. Steers long known in Lynden died Wednesday in La Mesa California at age 65 years 4 months and 3 days He was a Northwest pioneer who came to Oregon in 1849 and to this state in 1889 He pastored Advent Christian churches in this region and British Columbia and was noted for prophetic study He was active in progressive causes and longtime Grange member serving as Whatcom County deputy assessor for two years.
