Tech Gym Plans Given Okay

Texas Tech's board of directors approved schematic plans for a new gymnasium at the Deiskill Hotel in Austin and authorized Herbert Brasher and associates as architect. With only 490000 available, designs must be scaled to keep construction within funds. The plan includes a double gym floor, locker rooms, general PE facilities, a 10000 square foot swimming pool, and seating for about 500 in the pool area. Tech will use the Auditorium Coliseum for major indoor sports events.
