Houston Hail and Flooding Rages Across Texas

Severe storms drenched Houston and central Texas with heavy rain and hail. Streets flooded knee deep in McAllen and four blocks of main street blocked. Power outages surged as lightning caused outages unseen since 1961. Temperatures cooled to near 90s across regions with reports of up to seven inches of rain near Lampasas and five inches near Lake Travis.

Fire damages trucks at El Paso station corner

A blaze at the El Paso station damaged a 1962 International truck and a 167 International van owned by Kelly Milk Co. The largest loss was to the rubber and motor area of the truck and cab. A second truck suffered only minor damage to the van area. Police say three Latin American children started the trash fire that sparked gasoline splashes and a dangerous gasoline drip.
