Names Of 12 Airmen Revealed By Vietnam
Paris AP report: Vietnam today provided the U S Embassy with the names ranks birthdates and serial numbers of 12 American airmen said killed in the Vietnam War. Pentagon says one is KIA one POW and ten MIA. Most were shot down between 1965 and 1968 over North Vietnam.

MD Drive Tops Goal in Muscular Dystrophy Telethon
The Muscular Dystrophy Association will receive over $100000 from Lubbock and the South Plains as the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon raises funds. By 9 p.m. almost $105000 had been tallied from 21 hours of pledges broadcast by KLBK-TV Channel 13. Nationwide pledges reached $21.7 million, higher than last year, with the South Plains netting over $62405, surpassing 1974.

Dog starves to death infant in Spanish Harlem apartment
In Manhattan a four month old baby named Carla, born Sept 1 at Bellevue Hospital, was killed after a starving German shepherd puppy, left with the infant for six days, attacked in a two room East 105th Street apartment. Police report the mother Joanne Bashold, 24, said she left the baby on the floor to protect it. The mother and baby were discharged from Bellevue and returned home.
