Area Wrecks Kill Two City Women

Two Lubbock residents died in weekend crashes raising the city traffic death toll to 1 and the county toll to 18 for the year. Shirley Jean Dungan 34 of 302 Ave U died in a one car rollover four miles northeast of New Deal on county road 54 after losing control crossing a dip. Services for Dungan are pending. She is survived by her parents a daughter a sister a brother and one grandchild.

Shooting Incident Kills Lubbock Man

A 32 year old Lubbock man was in police custody after a shooting spree in the 3600 block of E 4th Street. Robert Ramos, 40, of 3600 E 4th Street died at 10 30 p m at St Marys Hospital from gunshot wounds to the abdomen. A ruling in the shooting was expected later.

Holiday Toll Rises on National Highways for Labor Day
