Lubbock agency placed on probation by regional OEO directors

Skoog, president of the Community Action Board, said Lubbock's Community Action Agency was placed on probation by regional OEO directors. At a meeting in McWhorter Elementary School, 15 members heard that the agency ranks among the four lowest of about 28 similar groups in the region. Officials in Dallas fear a cut in funding could follow if performance does not improve, as the current fiscal year ends February 28. The OEO has signaled funding for only four months next year pending results of the probation.
