U S officials handed over Ngo Dinh Can, brother of slain South Vietnam leader Ngo Dinh Diem, to the revolutionary government for probable trial and execution. Mine Cave-In Slows Rescue in Mathilde Mine

Six Hurt In Fall As Wallendas Attempt Pyramid Again

Six members of the Flying Wallendas circus aerial team were injured but not seriously when a wire gave way during a human pyramid act in Florida. The incident followed earlier deadly accidents including a 1962 Detroit death and an Omaha fatal fall last spring. The act marked a return after two fatalities and a prior collapse.

Seven Die In Bus Crash Near Truckee California

A Greyhound bus carrying 38 passengers to Reno overturned on a stormy mountain grade near Truckee California. Seven people died and 32 were injured as the bus slid into a median filled with rocks and rolled over. The driver survived and authorities noted the bus was on a charter run to Reno. Names of the dead and several injured were released by the Nevada County Coroner.

Grand Jury Indicts 29 In Major West Berlin Slaying Case

Grand jurors returned 30 true bills charging 29 defendants. James Samuel Bonner of 1818 Ave N was named in a murder indictment tied to the shotgun slaying of Sam Shores at 1912 Ave H on Oct 5. Shores died from a 16 gauge shotgun wound. Bonner was arrested at the scene. The proceedings followed daylong sessions at the 140th District Court, with related indictments including Carol J. Jones for a separate motor vehicle offense.
