Orphaned Vietnam child finds calm in Adirondacks home
John a three year old Vietnamese war orphan and his sister Maria four live with Mr and Mrs Glenford Palmer in a pine forest home seven miles from St. Regis Falls. Glenn, a Seabee stationed in Rhode Island, adopted them after returning from Vietnam in April. The house resembles a chalet with a trout stream nearby and dogs that greet visitors. Maria clings to Grandma while John walks with a limp awaiting surgery. Mrs Palmer works nights at Albany Medical Center and says Maria cries when things go awry.
