Watergate clemency offers discussed in McCord testimony

James W. McCord Jr testified before the Senate Watergate Committee that an administration official offered executive clemency several times to keep silent about the burglary. He identified John Caulfield as the official and said Nixon would be informed of the responses. Caulfield allegedly warned McCord that another Teapot Dome scandal could occur.

Stationery forgery alleged in McCarthy campaign suit

Bullet Wound Kills Attorney in Parked Car

A fatally wounded attorney, Harrison M. Grice of 4311 45th St, was found in an open field near a car on 4nd Street and Nash ville Avenue shortly before 1 p.m. Friday and died at Methodist Hospital from a single gunshot head wound. A revolver lay beneath his ankle on the car seat, with a clump of shells and a pistol holster nearby.

Ex Deputy Charged In Girls' Deaths

Stuart Florida ex deputy Gerard Schaefer charged with murder in the slayings of Georgia Jessup 16 and Susan Place 17. He was tied to multiple disappearances of women in South Florida with investigations extending to 20 or more missing girls. Skeletal remains of Jessup and Place found on Hutchinson Island.
