Warm Sunshine to Dominate South Plains This Friday
A Pacific cold front moving into Oklahoma and New Mexico is expected to trigger showers in the Panhandle this afternoon, while Lubbock and South Plains remain under more sun and warm temperatures after Friday’s record high readings in several Texas cities. Fort Worth and Waco posted new record low morning temperatures, with 42 and 45 degrees, alongside San Antonio’s 48. Lubbock logged 43 at 7 am and 100 remains the all-time high for the date. Light showers were noted near Tucumcari, New Mexico, as temperatures across the nation stayed warm except in Montana where gusty arctic conditions cooled readings to 60.
