Edward W. Beattie Jr reports from Cherbourg Chaumont front line notes a prisoner interview with a German major. The conversation covers Russian campaigns, Allied strategy in France, and morale issues as they discuss retreat and intelligence.
May 10 three Texas flying fields received national safety awards for low flying accident rates. Curtis field Brady Perrin field Sherman and Marfa Army Airfield earned the honors.
Marvin C. Wilson and Earl Fine led a three day FSA school in Amarillo for 18 counties. R L Wood of Denver taught lectures on pump irrigation and field trips to Tulsa area farms. The group discussed new irrigation methods, labor saving practices, water conservation, and loan programs for pumps.
Mrs Hester England of 1419 Tenth Street received a telegram from the War Department stating Pvt Billy V England has been released from a German prison camp and will be brought back to the United States soon. He was captured during the early North African campaign and last wrote March 3.
