Ground Forces In Vietnam Shift To Smaller Formations
High ranking Army officers said U S ground units in Vietnam have changed tactics to fight in smaller company sized formations to cover more area and seek contact with enemy forces. South Vietnamese forces also scaled down from regiment to battalion level, while operations like search and destroy are being phased out in favor of more pervasive presence.
