Storms Bring Heavy Rain and Hail to South Plains

Severe thunderstorms swept across Crosby Dawson and Lynn counties causing hail up to half a dollar in places. Winds reached 55 mph in Paducah as 1.16 inches of rain fell in 22 minutes. Crosbyton logged 2.2 inches of rain and hail covered streets, with two blocks of Highway 82 flooded. No major damage reported though wheat in Crosby County may have suffered. Weather alerts were issued for the South Plains and North Central Texas into Saturday night.
