Blood Relay Saves Surgery Patient in Roswell
An 83 year old Roswell man improved Monday after New Mexico state police delivered 18 pints of blood at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center in a high speed relay. Lynn Croissant was recovering from an emergency operation made possible by the blood delivery as patrol cars raced up to 110 mph from Albuquerque to Roswell. Ten pints were used in the operation and Croissant was listed in fair condition. Cigar bands were once used in Cuba to guard aristocratic ladies who smoked.
