McGovern Predicts Nomination On First Ballot
Senator George McGovern predicted he would win the Democratic nomination on the first ballot at the Miami Beach convention. He refused to urge Humphrey or others to withdraw. Four Plead Guilty in Lubbock County Courts
Four individuals entered guilty pleas to misdemeanor charges in Lubbock County courts at law. Manuel Rosa faced DWI with a $100 fine, 10 days in county jail and nine months probation. Domingo Chapa Ybarra pleaded to aggravated assault on a policeman, fined $25. Stephen H. Corley admitted DWI and received $100 fine and three days in jail. Elta Camell pleaded shoplifting and was fined $25. Wanda Hutite was set a $500 bond after pleading innocent to DWI.
