Hanoi Admits Bombing Toll High U.S. Raids Extend

Hanoi acknowledged heavy losses from two months of U.S. air strikes as American planes pressed raids on North Vietnam. U.S. forces said 260 strikes occurred Sunday with bridges at Tai Hut and Dong Khai destroyed and road and depot targets hit. In South Vietnam, Kontum district saw gains with the airstrip reopened and areas retaken.

Hijacking Loot Recovered as Fugitives Seek Asylum

FBI says $160,000 of ransom from the United Airlines hijack was found in a Nevada area after the hijacker parachuted from the jet. A separate $303,000 ransom sent to a Hong Kong bank is linked to another case. Nixon emissary Connally heads 15 nation tour

President Nixon sends outgoing Treasury Secretary John B. Connally on a month long 15 nation tour to discuss economic issues and subjects hosts wish to raise. The trip begins today with visits to Venezuela Colombia Brazil Argentina Helivaland Peru before mid June.
