Graduation milestones mark Lubbock high schools
City Schools completed a vast graduation task with 1 729 diplomas conferred by Monterey Dunbar and Estacado High Schools. 862 seniors received diplomas at commencement Friday night, Estacado’s first class graduated, Dunbar and Monterey held services for 721 and 92 students respectively. In total 1 728 graduates across Lubbock’s seven public and parochial high schools. Estacado’s speakers included Thelma McNair Doris Stubblefield Bobby Wells Donna Wood. Wells spoke of the school’s firsts from pep rallies to the Echo annual. Miss McNabb urged future classes to keep defiant spirit against injustice.
