Man Faults Predominate In Air Crashes Says FAA Doctor
Dr Clyde Lynn of the FAA in Fort Worth contends humans cause about 85 percent of Southwest crashes, citing complex aircraft and stress as factors. He notes alcohol-caused crashes fell from 35 percent in 1963 to 22 percent last year, and warns pilots must maintain extreme concentration. He also remarks machines have outpaced human capability.
