Investigation Launched In Tragic Blaze In Lubbock
A Saturday dawn fire on Main Street and Avenue S in Lubbock killed 36 year old Burdette Odekirk as her husband and two daughters watched in horror. Lt Pete Hubbard and Det Olin Kirk arrived at 3 41 am and aided survivors while firefighters found the woman near the front door. The husband was hospitalized with burns and shock, while the girls Penny 14 and Susan 11 were placed in friends homes. Authorities could not confirm if she re entered the burning house after escaping.
