Soldier rescues frightened child after fall in well
Falls in Well report from DUC LAP, South Viet Nam. A U S paratrooper from Charlie Company, 16th Armor, 173rd Airborne Brigade, saved five year old Thi Day when she toppled into a well after fleeing armored vehicles. The sergeant, Sgt. Frederick G. Fawcett of Philadelphia, leaped 50 feet to the well, pulled the girl out as comrades lowered a rope. The child cried but was unharmed.

Fire Breaks Out In Bus Near Houston No Injuries Reported
A Greyhound bus traveling from Fort Worth to Houston caught fire near the northwest edge of Houston. All 25 passengers escaped safely as the bus was destroyed. Deputies said the blaze began near the engine possibly from an overheated wheel and halted at U S 200 near FM 1960 by Jersey Village. An additional bus was sent to transport the passengers.
