Riots at Indiana Girls' School Prompt Escapes and Repairs

Riots at the Indiana Girls' School led to nine inmates still missing after two attempted escapes and property damage including smashed furniture and windows. State troopers patrolled nearby as two ringleaders were moved to Indiana Women's Prison and officials assessed late reports of the disturbance.

Five NYU Students Injured Jumping From Bronx Fire

Five New York University students were injured as fire swept through a three story Fare building near University Heights in the Bronx early in the morning. Most injuries occurred when they jumped from upper floors of the Kappa house across the street. none appear critical.

Fire Insurance Rates To Rise Across Texas In 1964 65

The State Insurance Board said new rates will take effect June 1, increasing overall fire insurance costs by an average of 4.4 percent based on 1964 and 1965 laws. The board also indicated an overall reduction in certain coverage and a 27 percent boost in homeowners policies.
