A grand jury indicted 23 people on 25 charges. Julian Ramos 57 of Cornell Street faces murder in the Texas Tech campus killings of a graduate student and a cleaning woman on January 12. Pedro Gutierrez 32 a Mexican national charged in the axe murder of a coworker at Caldwell Gin on December 31. Ramos was arrested at the scene. Clingan and Mrs. Constancio were killed in the Science Building basement after a confrontation. Motley man charged with murder in Matador area death
Eddie J D Tim mons of Northfield was charged Monday with murder with malice in the shooting death of Jimmy P Lege 34 of Afton. Lege's body was found in his pickup in southeastern Matador. Tim mons was arrested in Childress after a warrant had been issued in Motley County. Bond was set at 20000 then reduced to 5000 and he was released on bond. Leggs body showed a single gunshot wound and a bullet hole matched a rifle fired from outside the pickup. Legg owned a yellow pickup involved in a prior traffic incident. The rifle is described as a 65 millimeter.
