James T. Legg a 34 year old state cattle inspector was found dead in his pickup in southeastern Matador around 10:45 a.m. Sunday with a bullet wound in the back. Sheriff J. D. Spray and Justice of the Peace Fred C. Bourland reported a bullet hole in the cab and possible exit from outside. Time of death estimated Sunday morning. Legg had worked for the Texas Animal Health Commission about a month, previously a ranch manager. Survived by wife Kay and children Joe Beverly Sally, parents Peyton and Max, and brother Gene.
