County champions seek spelling title in Lubbock

Twenty two county spell champions will meet today to determine the spelling champion who will represent the Lubbock area in the National Spelling Bee in Washington. The 20th annual Lubbock Avalanche Journal Spelling Bee begins at 1 30 p m today at Smylie Wilson Junior High School auditorium directed by Dr Cecil Green.
