Hijacker airs grievances as bank plot collapses

In Corpus Christi two men were arrested in a fraud plot targeting a banker linked to Texas Tech. The plan fell apart after the hijacker demanded 25 000 and broadcast his grievances against injustices toward minorities during a plane hijack. The suspect identified as Ricardo Chavez Ortiz, 37, surrendered six hours after the hijack.

Three Die As Plane Crashes Near Seminole

A Piper Comanche crashed about 10 miles west of Seminole on U S 180 killing three men. Deputies identified two victims from wallets found in the wreckage as Billy Junior Arnold of El Paso and Lyman Alison of Farmington New Mexico. a third man remained unidentified. The crash occurred around 8 45 p m with wreckage scattered and bodies burned and mangled. No flight plan was filed.
