Henry Tillotson shot and killed Ella Taylor last night and then killed himself with the same weapon in Victor Colorado. Ella had just returned from a Labor Day celebration with George Brown, another admirer. Tillotson was jealous of Brown’s attention.
Tocsin Indiana report: Bert Walker, a school teacher, fatally shot his young wife in a jealous rage. The couple had been recently married.
Toledo report says P. R. Ashwell a carpenter fatally shot his wife wounded his son and attempted to shoot himself in a jealous rage. Authorities say the couple had not lived happily. The wife and son were expected to die.
Past Grand Commander Frank X Greenwood and Lieut James F Martin of the Knights of Sherwood Forest Taunton Massachusetts arrived in Jersey City as delegates to a Foresters convention. A guide led them to Central Park where a young man helped them find collars then seized their gold mounted swords valued at 50 dollars each during a ball game before vanishing.
Norwich Conn Sept 7 The Falls company cotton goods maker started up yesterday on a full time in all departments employing 500 hands after a shutdown for annual repairs Aug 14. Prior to shutdown the plant had been operating short handed. Fairfield Me Sept 7 Shaw of Fairfield woollen mill run by Sampson Williams with Vassalboro mill announces wiring for electricity at Fairfield plant. A night crew is expected to start Wednesday, adding 75 workers and doubling payroll.
A seven year old boy Willie Grimes son of Joseph Grimes of Willow street Gloucester jumped from a moving train while riding and was killed instantly at the depot Monday night. Patrick Murphy, seventy, was struck by a passenger train on the New York and New England tracks between Hopkinton and Milford Monday night, with his left hand severed and his skull crushed. doctors say he will die. F M Smith a Boston liquor dealer tied to Haverhill boodlers and others is returning from Europe to serve his sentence in Salem jail. He preferred jail to exile and is due to jail this month from Liverpool. At Crescent Beach station a man believed to be Thomas Kelly leaped in front of the Boston train and was mangled fatally.
The court adjourned for a month to allow defense to improve. John H. Harding faced false pretences charges for selling a horse with unpaid encumbrances and the case was continued to Friday for final disposition. J. H. Riley’s fraudulent concealment case was again continued.
Blanche Luscomb, fourteen, daughter of Charles H. Luscomb of Pawtucketville, disappeared after leaving a note saying she would seek work to help her family. A Pelham milkman sighted near grandparents’ home, suggesting she might be with relatives or near her grandfather. The parents, anxious but hopeful, urged grandfather Burtt to help locate her, while noting she had long wished to work despite parental caution.
Forty seven young women sat for the entrance examinations at the high school this morning. The two day tests began with languages English history and geography followed by algebra geometry and arithmetic. Principal F F Coburn conducted the exam.
W H Baldwin and W J Hill of Lowell returned from Marblehead with the finest blue fish catch yet by Lowell men. The party totaling 2500 pounds included two Marblehead gentlemen. Baldwin landed the largest fish, a 19 pound blue fish.

The funeral for True Morton of Chelmsford Centre was held Sunday from the Westford Street home with a large attendance from Odd Fellows and related organizations. Delegations from United Order of American Mechanics, Wannalanceit Encampment I O O F, Oberlin lodge, and Chelmsford lodge participated, with services by Rev. Granville Pierce and performances by Amphion quartet. Burial followed at the cemetery with Odd Fellows rites and floral tributes. Also noted were funerals for Thomas Nugent and Francis Bradley, and a service for Aaron Heywood Bean of Roxbury attended by Hamilton National Bank colleagues. Rev. Everett Hale officiated.
Mrs Abby Davis aged 72 years 1 month died Saturday at 417 Wilder Street. John R Chamberlain aged 64 died Sunday at his Pelham home. he served with the Old Sixth in Baltimore and was a friend of Addison O Whitney. Chamberlain was a member of Post 185 and burial will be held Wednesday afternoon. he leaves a wife and sister.

The Wood family held their ninth annual reunion at 36 First Street in Centralville with about 25 attendees from Lowell and surrounding towns. Officers were elected including Frank Wood of Boston as president and Prentiss T. Davis of Lowell as secretary, followed by a day of dinner, music, games, and a eye race won by Mrs. L F F Porter for three bananas.
The first Buttrick family reunion gathered Monday afternoon at the home of Misses Harriet and Adaline Buttrick on Liberty Street Concord. The grounds on the west bank of the Concord river near the Old North Bridge offered a historic setting. Attendees included 176 descendants with Sidney H. Buttrick of Melrose as president. A permanent organization was formed and a historical address will be published later.
The Lowell resident at 318 Central Street was not seriously hurt in an excursion train crash on the Maine Central railroad Sunday morning. The seventy plus year old man was being cared for at the scene near Etna campground. his daughter Miss Carrie A Miles, a Green School teacher, rushed to the scene while his son Waldo F Miles remained at home.
James Cox a plasterer fell from a staging at St Peters church yesterday afternoon. He sustained a compound comminuted fracture of the humerus and was taken to St Johns hospital by Dr Ricker. He is married with one child and resides at 12 Worthen street.
The Republican city committee met in a largely attended harmonious session and set the caucus date for state county councillor senatorial and representative races on Wednesday September 22 at 7 30 p m.
Richard J. Sparks of 57 Elm Street, pianist at Lakeview, slipped near Cross and Marion streets last night and fractured his left thigh. His injured leg already required a cane for walking.
