In Plymouth Gustav Nordstadt 28 years old an employee of Plymouth Cordage Company was killed on an electric street railway near Spirit pasture on Saturday evening. Rose McGourty wife of Patrick a Worcester gardener drank wood alcohol by mistake and died at Worcester City Hospital two hours later.

A catastrophic fire and explosion at the Old Time Fireworks and Tarrant Co premises on Park Place and nearby buildings in New York City caused massive destruction. Eyewitness accounts report at least 150 deaths with extensive debris, blown structures, and fires spreading across several blocks. Ambulances, alarms, and rescue efforts surged as streets filled with injured and witnesses.
In New York the seventh district court saw a dramatic escape attempt by three burglars. They killed keeper Hugh McGovern and sawed bars to jump from the second floor. Nashua, Oct 29. At 8 30 yesterday morning Mrs Horace Eayres of Chestnut street walked to the Main street bridge over the Nashua river and leaped 25 feet into the water. Three men rescued her. Her husband died six months ago and it is thought grief over his loss prompted the attempt.
Chattanooga Oct. 28 report says Marietta Knitting Mills will increase capital stock from 27000 to 50000 and add two more mills doubling plant capacity. President P H Northcut announces that on July 1, 191 the stock will rise to 100000.
A Republican torchlight parade is planned for Wednesday night with invitations to out of town companies and potential attendance by Nashua Clinton and Manchester groups. The Australian ballot in next week’s election will be large, with 126 to 136 names, 75 for a starter, and 120 before senators. Lillian Fay and Mary Ellen Donovan, both about 16, left their rear Lawrence Street home last Tuesday morning after drawing pay at the Boott mill. Police traced them to Cambridge Street Boston but the girls found another hiding place before officers arrived. The Donovan girl is said to have influenced Fay to run away. Witnesses describe Fay as fair with dark brown hair, about 5 foot 1, while Donovan is described as 16 with dark hair and 5 foot 3. The mother asserts no evidence of a man. the case is in Boston police hands with hopes of locating the pair.
