The funeral for Helen T Gormley was from 43 Claire street at 8 30 am. Mass at St Patrick's church followed at 9 with Rev Fr Sexton officiating. Choir directed by Re S Faulkner sang Schmidt Mass. Miss Finn sang Calvary and De Profundis as the body left the church. Burial was in the Catholic cemetery. Bearers were John Gormley John Shanahan Thomas Duhig Timothy Reardon Michael Maguire and John Reagan.
The health department has patched up the cremator so that it can be used to burn refuse that must be destroyed.
Box 14 sounded at about 9 49 last night calling the fire department to Burns meat market on Concord street where papers were blazing in a desk. The fire was extinguished before the department arrived.
A chimney spark in a Cheever Street tenement started a roof fire a short time after noon yesterday. The blaze was put out with no serious damage after an alarm rung from box 28. A Belvidere resident bought a Steinway concert grand piano from M Steinert Sons earlier this week. A newborn infant's body was found between Middle and Market streets near Shattuck. James Sullivan moved it to J W Brooks undertaking rooms and the medical examiner was notified. Middlesex North Pomona Grange will meet in Union Hall on Friday November 2 with Rural Free Delivery discussed. at 2 pm the Lowell Textile School principal will speak and then visit the school.
Louis T. McKenney, a Bedford Bedford Lincoln and Billerica school official, was awarded $2500 by a Middlesex civil court jury in East Cambridge for a tort action against D. Mayor Staley, a school board member. The trial revealed Staley publicly stated something during proceedings.
