Johannas Boyson and Gottfried Tietz, two sailors, quarreled at 103 Washington street. Boyson shot Tietz in the breast then killed himself. Both were taken to Hudson street hospital. Boyson died, Tietz dying, unable to recover. Tietz had signed articles to sail today as mate on the schooner Otto.

In Lansing on October 13 a youth named John Carson, age 16, died after Fitzsimmons's famed solar-plexus blow was delivered by Frank Martin. Carson reportedly asked to be struck in the chest and collapsed immediately after the back-handed blow near the heart.

James Haley of South Milton, about 35, employed by Boston and Quincy Street Railway, lies in City hospital with a fractured skull and likely death. Eyewitnesses say several young men fled the depot after the incident. police, a large squad, investigate as possible assault while others think the fall occurred while rushing to catch a train.

Reverend Clifton K. Flanders of Chicopee has been unanimously called to the pastorate of the First Baptist church in Biddeford Maine replacing Rev Dr A K P Small who moved to Chicago. Flanders, a relatively young minister, has led a dynamic career including Cliftondale Baptist church Norwich Y M C A work and Boston Ruggles Street service. He is married with two children.
Bernal Osborne and Almiron Perkins, alleged forged check transgressors, were arraigned in Bangor on a charge of passing a forged check. They pleaded not guilty and requested a continuance to Thursday to gather friends and funds from Boston. The case may settle, but multiple other charges loom in various cities.

Plymouth police report Capt Angus Scott aged 65 took his own life at his home The Noon with a revolver this morning. He was a well known figure along the coast and leaves a widow and several children. The cause remains unknown.

Patrolman Patrick J. Leahy was attacked by a gang near Washington and Northampton streets. Carrie Turner Mack a famed stage actress died Tuesday in Dansville New York after a brief illness. Born and educated in Albany she formed early fame with Kate Claxton in The Two Orphans and starred for years with the Madison Square company. She married Albert His then John Mack of Albany and recently gained success as Niobe at the Boston Museum.
An unknown man was found unconscious with bleeding from the skull at the depot on Isineeistheeta En, Tuesday night. Police investigated the scene and transported him to a hospital for treatment.
J. H. B. Goff of 64 Grand Street lost two fingers of his left hand while operating a saw at Wamesit Power Company's works this morning. He was taken by ambulance to St. John's hospital. Meanwhile, Lowell residents attend the Merrimack Valley Universalist association meeting in First Universalist Church Lawrence with Rev. R. A. Greene of Lowell as principal speaker at the morning session.

The Boston and Maine railroad held its annual meeting at City Hall Lawrence with Lucius Tuttle presiding.
