Chicago, May 23. Through John E. Rastall's investigation the fact is developed that nearly all public school pupils have seen animals of tropical countries, while only a third have seen a sheep or hog. These animals will be added to the zoological menagerie.

Bartlett school’s baseball team defeated a Pawtucket school squad 16 to 10 yesterday afternoon at Canal Field. The Bartlett nine, 13-year-olds, issued a challenge to any city team of their age group.
The High School Regiment held its 15th annual field day at the fairgrounds with a short morning session and a 1:30 pm march. Cadets, in blue uniforms with white gloves, showcased regimental bearing as officers rode in on white duck trousers. Spectators lined Kirk street as the regiment advanced to the fairgrounds, where the grand stand buzzed with an audience mostly of the schoolgirls, carriages, and pedestrians.

The full bench of the Supreme Court on Friday overruled the plaintiff Henry M. Philips treasurer of the Commonwealth and upheld the Superior Court ruling discharging trustee John Meagher. The suit sought $717 from Meagher and aimed to seize funds Mrs Meagher held as alleged belonging to an insane ward. Evidence that she once possessed $1933 for the couple’s child was deemed inadmissible as denial of trust management under public statutes. J P Leahy and T J Enwright represented the parties.
Members of Company M Dance and Drill in the Armory last night for the annual May party. The Ninth Regiment boys enjoyed a good turnout. Lieut Gillow led an excellent drill with refreshments marking the evening. Capt A D Mitten was general manager and the noncoms served as aids.
Nellie Jones of 61 Corner Street stepped on a lit parlor match last night. The flame spread to her clothing, burning her back and arms. Dr. Ricker admitted her to St. John's Hospital this morning for treatment.

John Mc Dermott discharged after assault and battery. Joseph Delorme jailed five months for vagrancy.
Early yesterday morning the fire department fought a blaze on the roof of Samuel Silverbirge's bakeshop at Grant and Chelmsfore streets. Later, at 11 30 the department answered a still alarm to extinguish a grass fire on upper Gorham street.
