Nashua May 20 Two Pelham farmers turned over to police two youths who called themselves Charles Hooper and Wallace Bingham of Lowell. They allegedly broke into a house and stole a shotgun a robe and some milk. The pair claimed they were camping nearby and were placed in custody.
National League results show Cincinnati defeating Philadelphia 8 to 2 and Chicago routing New York 7 to 0. Pittsburgh hosted Brooklyn with no score reported as rain caused postponements across Louisville Washington Cleveland Baltimore and St. Louis Boston games.
In Providence on May 20 Francisco Masucci suffocated and Michael Ricci sustained fatal burns in a Spruce street boarding house blaze. A charity event in Charlestown last evening featured the Lowell Banjo Mandolin and Guitar club with soloists Margie Marren Gertrude Herrick Alice Ryder and Arthur Baldwin on banjos Henry T. Gilday George Spaulding Eckland Nellie Gilday Hanley and A S Spaulding on mandolins and guitars. The parish youths closed with a minstrel show that drew hearty applause with Mr. Henry T. Gilday as accompanist.

Edward O Neil fled detectives yesterday afternoon after taking a watch and chain from David Larriviere a Paige Street shoemaker. Officers La Flamme and Allen identified him near Bridge and Paige streets chasing through Bridge Canal Street and into a Massachusetts storehouse cloth room and sub basement where he was captured but the watch was not recovered. O Neill is held on suspicion of larceny.

High price was Kulmlin's son at $562, Elda at $150, total sales $5025. Black America, a bay colt foaled 1893 by Simmons, sold to D. L. Page of Lowell for $200.

Rear Admiral Belknap will speak tomorrow evening in Memorial hall at a public lecture invited by the Dahlgren division of the National association of Naval Veterans. The talk covers service in the Home Squadron during 1860 to 1861 including Fort Pickens reinforcements. Admission is free with tickets.
