Money deposited in the savings department of Traders National Bank at 30 Middlesex Street and 11 Post Office Avenue on or before Saturday May 2 at 9 p m will draw interest at four percent per annum from May 1. About 1000 students left chapel en masse in Delaware Ohio. The glee club faces renewed friction as faculty resistance to a planned long tour clashes with studies and conditions. Demonstrations included some high handed actions as the crowd protested the change.

The Cunard liner Etruria, commanded by Capt Ferguson, was struck by the Italian bark Jeronina Brianchi as both vessels moved from the Mersey. The bark was badly damaged and beached to avert sinking. Etruria sustained only slight damage and can promptly resume its voyage.

Dennis F. O Neil is found dead in the cellar of Brooks’s undertaking rooms after hanging himself from a tree limb in Wigginville woods. He left a wife and six children, owned two houses, and had been despondent since losing ambulance work last January. Dr. Ricker and Captain Moffatt identify the body. O Neil had been in good spirits Thursday morning before the tragedy.

John F. Sheehan suffering delirium tremens resisted officers Ryder and McLaughlin and Dr. Ricker this morning. He was brought to the police station by ambulance and placed in a cell, then transferred to the poor farm tightly strapped in a stretcher to prevent self injury.
A buggy with yellow running gear and a small bay horse owned by S. W. Billings were stolen from the corner of George and Church streets this morning while the owner attended Keyes's auction sale. The team reported stolen last night from W. G. Goucher has been recovered.
A large section of iron flue used to carry water to turbine wheels on the Merrimack became displaced on a wagon during transit from the boiler works to the mill this morning. It blocked the Merrimack and John streets junction until jacks moved it back into position.
The democratic district committee met at John J. Hogan's office in the Central block and decided to hold the district convention in Jackson hall on Monday May 11 at 3 o'clock. Lowell Lawrence and Methuen members were present.
