A man named Spooney asked at J A Gregoire’s West Fourth street stable for a horse and buggy. He fled two hours later with a $200 team. A Lawrence officer stopped the sale of a closely described team, arresting Fred Foss alias Bean. Gregoire recovered the horse and carriage. the animal was in poor condition. Foss is said to be an old offender.

Dennis J. Donovan a longtime Boston train conductordies at home in Concord New Hampshire from pneumonia He was born June 15 1859 and began rail service at 15 rising from brakeman to baggage master and finally passenger conductor He is survived by his wife six children a mother two brothers a sister and a late brother Maj Daniel B Donovan He was active in Knights of Columbus and Order of Railway Conductors with state deputy role and recent attendance at a national convention in New Haven.
