One of Chelmsford's older residents, John S Shed, died Monday night at his South Street home aged 80 after a paralytic stroke two years earlier. Patrick Gelney was struck by the 4.40 train from Boston to Lowell at South Lowell while traveling from Mahoney's boarding house to Lowell Rendering works. He died on the line, with officials believing he was walking on the track. He leaves a widow and two children.
