Mrs George Hills proprietor of the Ocean View house at Salisbury beach died on the 17th aged 72 years. She was a hotel operator for about 80 years and owned Hill farm near Southampton, one of Massachusetts' largest estates.
G M Hymans, acting for the treasurer, said there was no doubt a receiver had been applied for the Butte and Boston Mining company. Eastern creditors doubt the company’s ability to meet debts, prompting the action.

March 14 report from Mitchell states Willis Hollis an ex convict beat his wife in a drunken rage then poured kerosene on furniture and flung it outside. A mob seized him from the jail tied him to a tree and whipped him severely. He is believed near death from the injuries.
Chicago March 14 The choral societies of St Louis Cleveland Ann Arbor Louisville Milwaukee and Oberlin met here last night and began steps toward forming a grand choir union of societies in cities west of Pittsburg.
Lincoln Neb March 14 Ackerman Co millinery establishment burned this morning causing about 60000 dollars in losses with 40000 dollars insured. Four occupants were taken out unconscious and several firemen had a narrow escape.
A New York butcher, Alexander Nemetty, murdered his 16 year old step-daughter Mary Withouski today after she refused to obey him, then killed himself. The tragedy occurred on March 14 in New York.
Crooksville Minnesota March 14 Indian agents arrested two parties over land possession on the Red Lake reservation. Their property was confiscated as part of the action.

A Portland company formed to manufacture and sell Tyler Ten cigars with 10000 dollars capital. Last Thursday the meeting was held at the factory on Church Street. Officers include President Charles L Marren Treas John H McAlvin and Directors Cornelius Shanahan C H Addison Thomas F Garvey George W Flint Harry Gray. Clarence H Addison elected business manager and secretary John H McAlvin. The clerk of the original company was Clarence Hull of Portland.

The Good Templars of North Chelmsford held a last night entertainment at the Town hall featuring songs by Mr Hodge and Miss Wesgate readings by Mrs Hill and Miss Mary Donelly Amelia Marinel with duets by Mr and Mrs Hodge Miss Westgate and Mrs Scribner harmonica and bones by Marinel and Mallilieu a Highland fling by Amelia Marinel banjo and guitar by Mr and Mrs Hodge. The committee in charge included Mr and Mrs Marsh Fred Mallilieu Millie Marinel and Carrie Taylor.

T. hosted a Merry box party at Bay State hall last night with entertainment, songs by Mrs. Atwood Allen and Miss Mildred Rubin, recitations by Miss Ella Evelyn and Arthur Rubin, tableaux by Arthur Rubin and John Linscott, Miss Belle Rubin and William Smith. Auctioneers were Atwood Allen and Ernest Corbett.
After three years of service Col Percy Parker resigns from the Governor's staff. He sent the notice to Lieut Governor Walcott last Tuesday, saying he"ll leave after long service begun in Gov Russell's third year and continued by Gov Greenhalge.
