Edward Chagnon a carpenter for Consolidated railroad at Valley Falls near Pawtucket died at Rhode Island Hospital after shielding seven year old Annie Sanderson from an oncoming train. He was working on pulleys for the signal system when the accident happened Sunday night. He succumbed to a fractured skull and never regained consciousness leaving a widow who is an invalid.
The women's branch of the People's Club presented a Saturday evening programme directed by Miss Elva Smith featuring piano by E B Young, songs by Grace Carll, vocal and instrumental numbers by Mr James N Greig and Miss E A Smith, violin by L A Harrington, dance by Grace Carll, and a vocal duet by Grace Carll with Mr Greig. Mrs Albert Horr will host the next event.

William H Harrigan longtime street and sewer time keeper was discharged Saturday night by Supt of Streets Cheney. Cheney said this morning he plans to abolish the time keeper office and distribute such tasks among himself and other department staff.

Peter Martin sued Cornelius Collins for false imprisonment after an eight month sentence was recorded by error. The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court upheld the statute and ordered judgment for Collins. Writ of error now sought to bring the case to the U S Supreme Court for October term.
