San Francisco reports 7500 volunteers expected to arrive from Manila by June 26. The Thomas with portions of the 38th, 49th, and all of the 47th sails this week. the Ohio with the 42nd comes Sunday. Haford with the 41st Monday. Indiana with part of the 42nd and Logan with parts of the 88th, 43rd and 44th Tuesday. Kirkpatrick with parts of the 38th 48th and 44th arrives Wednesday.
Cambridge June 20 Harvard and Yale opened their series with a baseball game on Soldiers Field as nearly the entire commencement crowd formed the Harvard contingent. The Harvard undergrads led a march onto the field with a band this afternoon while alumni filled the stands tomorrow for class day events.
Billy Madden, manager of Gus Ruhlin, says he has waited long enough for a Jeffries bout and will claim the world championship for Ruhlin if Jeffries does not agree to a match soon. He plans to arrange a fight with the next best man and release Jeffries.

Dimon replies he never received Worcester’s report, ordered Brady to inspect the Pawtucket bridge, and forwarded all reports he had with recommendations. The exchange begins with Dimon’s formal letter dated June 17 from Lowell.

Boston police pursue the theory that Blondin carried the body in a trunk from Boston to Chelmsford. Officers will deploy teams along the road to question residents near the path and locate further clues.
New York news reports reveal Brondin was in Greenwich Connecticut as late as 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, tying him to the Blondin murder inquiry. The tide of clues includes a trunk Blondin shipped to Pier 19 on the North River, now part of the unfolding case.

Charles Cook newly converted at the House of Prayer in Dover New Hampshire and aided by Missionary Sylvester Kimball begins a crusade against local liquor dealers. His first action targets George Leigh saloon owner. raids by Sheriff Parker and Deputy Wentworth find liquor and confiscate. Leigh is summoned to police court. Cook plans to close one saloon before moving to the next.
Thieves entered Jacob Nannas shop at 342 Middlesex Street Wednesday night and stole clothing valued around 125 dollars. An entrance via rear door and window was found open. Police are investigating. A second break in at 284 Middlesex Street yielded fruit cigars and cigarettes after another rear window entry. Thieves blew out gas before morning opening, nearly suffocating the proprietor.
Gardiner Me June 20 The first electric light bicycle meet in Crystal Lake Park drew about 600 spectators. Claude Hamilton of Lowell won the mile open in 2.23 with R A Carni of Worcester second. Other events saw Patsey Keegan and Francis O'Brien of Lowell win handicaps and Casey of Lowell take a tandem match against Rutherford of Winc hendon.
Company C held a weekly meeting and drill in a vacant ar mory lot practicing in shed without guns. Dr. Gross examined candidates who passed and will be mustered for camp. Companies C and G depart Friday at 2 p m on a special train with 12 men each to prep for regimental arrival. The caterers and assistants also go down today and C and G will eat their first camp meal Friday night.
The president and directors invite all members and friends to a reception this evening at 8 o clock honoring the YWCA tenth anniversary. Special music will be provided by the ladies orchestra.
At the Franklin Debating and Literary Club meeting, one new member was admitted. After the business meeting a literary program featured readings by John M. O'Donohue and John O'Rourke, with "The Joy of Good Literature" and "Admiral Dewey" read by T. J. Sullivan and John H. Murphy.
In Pawtucket the police court list shows defendants Konstantinos and Theothoris Parskeropolus and others charged with illegal fishing near the fish-way at the Pawtucket dam. Officer Frank Fox testified, with about a dozen fish seized and displayed in court. Fines and continuances noted, including John P. Foye and John Gallagher each fined two dollars. Dennis Winn and Albert Letendre cases continued. Kid Mulligan to be tried Saturday for illegally keeping liquor.
Twenty five roses were presented by the senior class to Lorin L Dame marking his 25 years as Medford high school principal. A public reception followed in the school hall with the Dame family, teachers, school officials, and townspeople in attendance. Dr Dame, born 1838 in New Hampshire, educated at Tufts, and a long career in Massachusetts schools, also serves as a Tufts trustee and author.
City notes show the superintendent of commons reports strong turnout expected for the Fourth of July celebration with up to twenty thousand people possible. The special committee plans a meeting tonight as officials joke about language disputes over an unabridged dictionary at city hall.
