In Fisher Court Nellie Washburn received four months in the workhouse for vagrancy. David Snow was fined ten dollars for assault. In New Richmond Wisconsin on June 14 the worst mortality from the cyclone occurred in the basement of William's hardware store where many sought shelter. Several bodies have been recovered and about a dozen remain entombed. The Hawkins family of six perished five in their home’s Hawkins in the second story died as the house collapsed.
The captain and six aboard the Ward Liner Macedonia perished when the ship sank after a collision with the Hamilton. They abandoned ship but could not save any effects as the Macedonia sank seven miles south of Scotland lightship in six fathoms.
A cyclone that rivaled New Richmond tore through Herman Nebraska last night killing eight and wounding four. The business district and homes were left in heaps with many buildings collapsed. A timely warning saved numerous lives.

Alfred, Me June 15 The jury for the Kittery murder case was completed with two more jurors. Frank P Parks, the respondent, entered handcuffed as the trial opened. The county attorney mapped Parks alleged route from 1 pm January 23 on Pleasant street to the Tarlton house, where Mrs. Mary E Tarlton lay dying. Witnesses described seeing him near the scene including a shouted warning to James Boardman. The case centers on a molasses weapon and stains on clothes. Mrs Tarlton had recently withdrawn $30 and no money was found after her death.
Boston school committee members received the testimony of Harrison H Atwood along with the indictment in Commonwealth v Peabody from 1895 to 1896. They again nominated Atwood as architect for the new normal schoolhouse, while Mr Coolidge renominated Stickney and Austin of Yowell. The nominations were delayed for two weeks for reading.

The Board of Aldermen met last night in a routine session. The Winter street extension was sent back to the streets committee, and a dispute over an Aiken street extension award was addressed. Mayor Crowley presided with eight members present as licenses and several petitions were referred to committees.
The aldermen passed the Hoyt resolution and approved the Jenness street sewer at 5200 dollars. Resolutions for sewers on Bridge street Meadower ft street and Mammoth road to Varnum avenue were adopted. Dr W A Sherman warned the commons stable is too small for air space. referred to lands and buildings. Bates constable and Burn and Short weighers of coal confirmed. A memorial tablet in Memorial hall will honor Lowell volunteers who died in the Spanish war, listing 13 names. An exhibition of a Welsbach burner followed the meeting.

In Chelmsford last evening Troop F Cavalry elected Sergeant John J. Monahan of West Chelmsford to become first lieutenant, defeating Sergeant Arthur M. Warren after an earlier ballot. The meeting also accepted a Lowell parade invitation for the company on July 4 and declined to join a Lowell military tournament, with about 20 volunteers for individual participation.
In a boulevard bicycle collision, 80 year old Melvina Lapierre suffered a base skull fracture and worsening fever. Doctors considered operation as a possible aid while attendants stayed by her bedside at 18 Sargent Street awaiting the grim outcome.

Representatives from numerous schools attended and addressed by Rev F W Pederson on youth and society, urging moral nurture and mission work. The afternoon session included obituaries for Mrs. Mary J. McCue and Miss Nano Murphy with details of their families and lives.
Andrew F P Barrett purchasing agent halted wedding trip after mayor refused to recognize Muldoon as head of the department. Requisitions piled up as Barrett returned from New York to Fall River. Supt Thomas and Clerk Crawford of the water department are out of town.
Funeral services were held yesterday for Anthony J. Brogan at his parents home on Pawtucket Street with burial in the Catholic cemetery. Samuel W. Burford’s services followed Tuesday at his School Street residence with burial in Edson cemetery. Ex-Councilman Joseph F. Rourke’s services were this morning at St. Patrick’s Church with committal at the Catholic cemetery and Rev. James Walsh officiating.

Miss Anna N Shepard of High street visits Lincoln Nebraska and Miss Louise Saynisch of New York City stays with Miss Josie Keefe of Salem street. Dr Frances H Drew invites plans for the marriage of her daughter Hilda Lee to Mr Fred M Beede at Tyler Park on Wednesday June 28 at 6 30 PM. A birthday party for Miss May Pevey 15 Willow street attracts many guests with games and a late finish. Georgia Lovejoy of Fulton New York visits Mrs S T Ford. Rev S T Ford and son plan a Syracuse trip. Joseph Rhodes sails for England today on the steamship Canada and is honored by the Ippos social group with an English briar pipe.

A board of health officer states that death certificates signed by any Christian Scientist will not be received at the Lowell health office. The notice was served on a local association officer some years ago.
