In police court Judge Fisher dealt with four drunk defendants. George W. Farrand admitted intoxication and paid a five dollar fine after being arrested in Merrimack Square on return from Spickerville. Zelia Teassier Mary Lepine and Eugene St Pierre pleaded not guilty, with Lawyer Rivet defending. They admitted drinking that afternoon but denied being drunk. all were found guilty and fined five dollars each.
Mary J. McCue, wife of Michael H. McCue, died last evening at her home located at 781 Broadway. The obituary notes her age as 44, with no additional details provided.
The funeral for Calvin T. Wright of Chelmsford was held Monday at 2 PM from his Acton Street home. Rev. Granville Pierce of the Unitarian society led the services praising his sturdy New England farmer life. Hudson and La Crosse, Wisconsin suffered major losses as five inches of rain caused floods and 400 people evacuated.
Washington dispatches say Lawton’s troops fought behind entrenchments at the Zapote river near Bacoor driving the enemy with heavy loss. Our casualties totaled 30. Insurgents in the southern province were not molested until they threatened Manila with a strong force. they are now scattered and retreating.
Reliable reports say Gen Luna of the Philippine forces and aides were killed June 8 by Aguinaldo's guard aftergoing to confer at Aguinaldo's headquarters. An altercation occurred and a revolver was drawn before the guard killed them with a bayonet.
Mayor Crowley received the garbage contract this morning after a prior bond error required its return for correction. He plans careful review before deciding on any hearing. The sewer committee met, endorsing pipe sewers for Waite street, Powell street extensions, and a branch sewer in Parker street, plus a Tyler park sewer from Georgia avenue to Sanders avenue, with the extension opening into the Merrimack river referred.

Bridget Rowbottom was carried by ambulance from 10 West Third Street to St. John's hospital around 3 this morning after slipping on a dark stairway. She suffered scalp wounds requiring several stitches though internal injuries were ruled out at the hospital.

John A Morrison aged 16 years 8 months and 13 days died yesterday morning at St John hospital. Remains taken to parents home 97 Forest street for funeral. Employer of the commons department presented the superintendent Mr Whittet a quartered oak sideboard as token of good will.
