Seabrook New Hampshire July 18 a shocker as 70 year old John M Dow was arrested for murder after stabbing Josiah Brown to death and fatally wounding Joseph Brown following a drunken confrontation at Dow s home the attackers fight over a broken window led to Dow s knife attack and a shotgun counterstrike earlier a prior prison term for attempted wife throat gutting surfaced.
Boston July 18 The funeral for ex Gov Russell will be at 4 on Monday at Shepard Memorial church in Cambridge with Rev Dr Alexander McKenzie officiating. Public viewing is not allowed. services will be private. The ex-governor's body arrived in St John New Brunswick last night and party travels by train via Vanceboro and Bangor to Boston, arriving at 9 30 tonight.

William J. Bryan, Democratic nominee for president, arrived in Lincoln Nebraska to a massive non partisan welcome by about 20000 people. The city was crowded with banners flags and bells as Democrats and Republicans joined in the spectacle. James D. Chisholm a New England Telephone lineman died Friday while working in Brookline Chestnut Hill district. He sat in a sliding chair suspended from a cable under elm tree. insulation wore from a live electric wire beneath him. His legs touched the live wire and he fell onto the telephone cable with a hand also reaching a live conductor.
Daniel Welch attempted a rescue for Chisholm but the deadly current thwarted him. Welch was saved by tree boughs as he fell back. Chisholm was pronounced dead after being brought down from the water.
Elmer E. Bennett, a farmer near Long Pond, faced a police court for illegally keeping liquor after Police Officer Scott testified to surveillance and liquor found when arresting him. Bennett was found guilty and fined $50, while others received fines or probation for related drunkenness or minor charges.
John Norris of Norris Bros. wholesale ham dealers oiling a wagon on Middle street at noon failed to replace a wheel nut. The wheel separación caused the horse to run away on Beach street, throwing Norris with painful bruises.
