In New Bedford, New Bedford shut out Lewiston 10 to 0. Brockton defeated Augusta by a margin not fully specified. Fall River topped Portland 5 to 3. Bangor routed Pawtucket 9 to 3 in the New England League matchups.
Pittsburg played an errorless game today with strong support from fielding and Lewis contributing wild pitching and costly errors for Hawley. Pittsburg tallied 7 runs on 7 hits with no errors while Boston failed to score, recording 2 errors.
Two Lowell men posing as anglers roamed city shops Saturday calling for Moxie. They identified fake goods and detained several restaurant and candy store operators in Salem and Peabody, noting genuine Moxie costs about 2.15 a dozen wholesale versus imitation at 0.80 to 1.00. They previously visited Salem two years earlier.
Boston July 15 Hon Arthur Sewall Democratic nominee for vice president visited on route to Bath Missouri. He declined interview but expressed pleasure at large turnout at last night ratification meeting at Faneuil Hall.
About 1000 ladies departed Cleveland on a special train to Canton to visit Major and Mrs. McKinley. The trip was accompanied by the Ladies' brass band of Chagrin Falls, and Mrs. Avery of the public school board will deliver an address.

Joseph P Donnelly six year old son of Felix and Mary Donnelly of 47 Auburn street drowned near Stackpole street foot of Livermore while swimming with other boys. He dived, swept out by current, drowned before help arrived. Body taken to Undertaker Molloy rooms.
John Downs of Manchester Street was riding up Gorham Street when his horse bolted at steam from a sewer work engine. He was thrown, suffering severed arteries in the back of his head but not seriously hurt. The horse was captured at Davis Square.
The Philatelic society members gathered in Mr. M. C. Wright's Hildreth building office last night. Guest Frank P. Brown of Boston displayed a stamp collection valued at $3200 while E. T. Goward presented an engaging paper on stamp collecting.

About 75 invitations were sent, 30 accepted, with a daytime trip by car to Pawtucket landing and Tyngs Island for dinner and games. Notable attendees included L N Fowle, H J Johnson, H E Knowlton, Josiah Woodbury, J Ingalls, F E Philips, W S Goldsmith, W F Rooney, G Eugene Fisher, John D Hanrahan, W P Burbank and others.
Harry Greene a Stoneham Good Templar pleaded guilty in Police Court to stealing a lantern from John A Simpson. Judge Pickman fined him ten dollars which he paid. Three drinks were released and two received ten dollar fines. Sarah Higgins faces one year in county jail. Peter Duffy gets five months. James Adie and John Taylor one month. Charles McGillon two months. George McKenney Patrick Paul and Cornelius Buckley each fined three dollars. Melvin D Clark failed to appear and will be arrested.
Dr Goodrich and Miss Tetrault, advertised clairvoyants, left Lowell on July 3 after setting up offices in the Shattuck building Prescott street. Goodrich claimed roots in Lynn and Portland while his companion said Lynn as home. They ran a development class charging 8 for 12 lessons, many paid in advance but did not receive all.
Miss C Bordelais of H C Bordelais millinery firm confessed to State Fire Marshal Whitcomb that she set fire to the Essex street store in Lawrence on the morning of June 21. The store opened late at night, she held the only key, and investigators suspected incendiarism amid a heavy insured stock now reduced. The business was purchased for one third of the insured value.

The joint hearing on the M M A picture purchase opened with Mayor reading petitions and remonstrances from citizens.
