A Tewksbury woman lost between six and seven dollars when five young men assaulted her on Westford Street near Royal Street in Lowell. Police responded quickly, capturing five suspects Charles Barry Moses Provencher George Diette Horace Landry Israel Labell within eighty minutes. Judge Hadley released all five after Stella Decatur failed to identify them.
The John Eliot Literary and Social Union met at Westford Street home of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Barney to study Hawthorne. Grace Ward read an excerpt, Ida Woodies read a Twice Told Tale, and Katherine Ward reviewed The Marble Faun.
