Doctor Pleads Guilty in 1890 Grave Robbery Case
Dr. Samuel Patenaude of this city pleaded guilty to an old Burlington Vermont indictment charging him with robbing the grave of Katie Collins in the Catholic cemetery on the night of August 20 1890. He was fined 125 dollars and released from custody yesterday morning after entering the plea. In a related civil suit the parents of the dead girl recovered damages, with about 1300 dollars paid to the plaintiffs of which 800 went to them.
